Maya has over 20 years experience in the Modeling industry. She started her career for several
years as model working in Europe (70's) and later moved to NYC and Florida where she worked
another 15 years as model.
During this time, Maya has worked for clients such as St John Knits, Chanel, Escada and Valentino
just to name a few.
Beginning 90's, Maya moved Back to Europe and opened her first modeling center where she started
working with the major modeling agencies in France and Italy.
Maya's job was to discover, train and place models in these agencies which included
Madison,DNA,Women,I.M.G, Ford and Elite (Paris and NYC). After having a successful career in
Europe, Maya moved back to Florida (the sun!) where she continues her training and discovering
many new talent from this area.
To become successful in the modeling industry, models must have a sense of what it takes to
manage their career in the competitive world of modeling.
Talent must expose themselves by modeling in Fashion Shows, posing in Magazines and making a
list of Modeling Agencies.

| 50.000 Models in the World - 6000 in France - 20.000 in USA - 200 work like "Top Model" I have heard that , if you want to be a Model, Agencies will pay everything for you to start. Is this true? NO! Not in the USA. You need to learn about this industry so you will know how to present yourself. Training will make a big difference. When you go for Fashion Week's auditions, Be Prepared, a ready to work candidate always wins. You have to pay to receive knowledge from professional people, that way you are not loosing time and more money. It is your investment before you can make any money. The most successful models and talents will tell you that the learning process never ends. European's agencies,when they believe in you, will open your account and will take back their invested money on your future income. There are "discovered talent", but like lottery winners, they are rare. People have told me I should be a model or actor. Go to see professionals, they will tell you if you can be one. Do I really need a Comp Card or Headshot? Yes! This is your tool in marketing yourself. Agencies or Casting Directors need your Model Composite Cards or Actor Headshot. Can I use my own Photos for my Comp Cards and Headshots? NO! Model's Comp cards and Actor Headshots are professional marketing tools and require specific standards. Professional Photographers knows how to capture the right light, different looks and poses and how to capture the unique "you". How do I get my child started in modeling or acting? Generally agents are looking for children who are personable, animated and outgoing. You cannot force your child into modeling or acting. Children need to be trained to follow directions from Photographers or Casting directors. These people are hiring professional models or actors, they will not teach talent on the set as to what to do! |
